Sparks Cultural Festival 2025 report out now

Global Goals Centre were delighted to organise the 2nd Bristol International Cultural Festival in Sparks as part of Bristol Refugee Festival. Thanks to support from Bristol’s Community Champions team, African Voices Forum, Broadmead BID and National Lottery, this year’s Festival was even bigger and better supported.

2987 visitors to Sparks that day (approximately 1,200 more than a usual Saturday)

34 stallholders from 21 different cultural backgrounds selling food, crafts, art and more

23 performances and workshops from African drumming to flamenco dancing

One of our performers told us “I love the diversity and feeling I belong”

Awad Elmubarak from Bristol’s Sudanese community traded with us for the first time. He said
“I started a small business about a year ago, there was a lot of ups and downs as it was quite stressful doing all of it online by myself…The Sparks International Festival improved my knowledge and skills and also built my confidence.”
