Eliminating hunger and ensuring food supplies for all

Our Hero – Wendy Baverstock

Wendy works for Henbury and Brentry Community Centre. She has been coordinating food response during the pandemic in her locality: running a community fridge, collecting surplus food from supermarkets 5-days per week, parcels from FareShare. She then redistributes to those in need and does this all on a voluntary basis. Wendy has been engaging in this area for many years, and will continue to do so for many more to come!

What can I do?

Everyone can minimise food waste and learn to cook! We can help.

About the Nominating Organisation – Feeding Bristol

  2. Healthy Food – Increasing the ability and enthusiasm to grow, cook and eat healthy food
  3. Food Supply – Increasing the supply and accessibility of healthy, regional food
  4. Root Cause – Using their work the inform and drive positive changes in local and national policies
