About this resource

The Labyrinth of Sustainability is a Dutch project allowing participants to ‘design’ a t-shirt by selecting different options for each production stage and receive a sustainability ‘score’ at the end. In the process, they learn about new and experimentary materials and processes, and discover innovative ways researchers are bringing sustainable fashion to life.

Why we recommend this resource

The on and offline project is a brilliant way for an audience to engage with sustainable fashion in a way which is hand-on and participatory. As well as sparking debate, participants learn about the many stages of the production line and the inspiring research which is being done into sustainable fashion – such as the use of algae and jellyfish as a biodegradable raw material – sparking hope for a more sustainable future of fashion.
