About this resource
This programme equips and empowers young activists with the tools to create positive, lasting environmental change. The website enables educators to register their schools to sign up for the programme, which is designed to hit key curriculum and other targets. It even provides a free-to-use letter template for students to appeal to their schools to sign up for this programme and take action towards eliminating unnecessary single-use plastics for good.
Why we recommend this resource
A straw in our iced coffee, a plastic bag to carry our takeout, a wrapper on a chocolate bar: taken individually, each seems harmless. However, recycling plastic is not efficient – only 9% of plastic ever produced has been recycled. Our plastic addiction is having a devastating impact on our oceans, our wildlife, and our health. Reducing plastic use is the most effective means of avoiding this waste and therefore it is more crucial now than ever to educate the young generation about its perils.
